Egostrip Book 1 is back!

In 2020 I self-published Egostrip Book 1, a collection of my illustrations of legendary artists from hip hop's golden era. The Egostrip project began a few years before on my daily commute to work, where I drew my favourite musicians in little black books. Back in the studio, the illustrations were brought into the computer and digitally coloured, adding texture and details. Velocity Press actually approached me about publishing it but I was already committed to the Kickstarter campaign. The books all sold out quickly and so recently I approached Velocity Press to see if they'd be interested in reissuing it. The book is a beautifully designed collection of my character illustrations from the world of hip hop and beyond. There are 138 illustrations of pioneering artists from hip hop’s golden era, such as De La Soul, Madlib, DJ Premier, Mobb Deep, Nas, Cypress Hill, J.Period, J Dilla, Kool Keith, MF DOOM, The Roots, Biggie Smalls, A Tribe Called Quest, Biz Markie and The Beastie Boys. The book is 272cm x 294cm, and the 160 pages are printed and bound on heavyweight 130gsm paper with a hardback cover. It's also available as a limited edition bundle with an exclusive 21cm square art print and, if you're quick off the mark, a free A3 poster of my illustration for Velocity Press' Bedroom Beats & B-sides book. It’s not out until October but pre-order at by 17 July and get your name printed in the book. So if you missed out the first time round, then don’t sleep!
